Formulated Materials Technical Bulletins

## Formulated Materials Technical Bulletins – Summary

This collection of technical bulletins from Formulated Materials addresses key aspects of product compatibility, installation sequencing, environmental compliance, and innovative dual-purpose membrane applications within their waterproofing and underlayment systems. The bulletins provide installers and specifiers with critical guidance on proper material integration, ensuring long-term system performance and warranty compliance. Collectively, they reflect the company's commitment to delivering technically sound, environmentally responsible construction solutions.

Among the notable topics covered, one bulletin confirms the compatibility of the Elevation S60 waterproof membrane with L1 Seamless and L Flash for elevated wood-framed structures, emphasizing the importance of thorough surface cleaning prior to application. Another bulletin details the proper sequencing of parapet wall scuppers on elevated concrete surfaces, highlighting how early integration and expansive flange design are essential for effective water drainage, proper shingling, and securing the company's 10-year waterproof warranty. On the environmental front, the introduction of Treadstone APS—a primer with less than 1 gram per liter of liquid VOC and zero VOC after drying—demonstrates Formulated Materials' dedication to sustainable, health-conscious product development for use with their gypsum cements and HydroPhase 150.

Perhaps most innovative is the Treadstone Elite / Elevation DM2, a dual-purpose membrane constructed from recycled polyolefin that serves as both a sound attenuation underlayment and an exterior drainage mat, differentiated solely by installation orientation. This single-product solution addresses both sound transmission and moisture management challenges, simplifying inventory, reducing costs, and delivering environmental benefits. Together, these bulletins underscore Formulated Materials' focus on system-level thinking—ensuring that product compatibility, proper sequencing, regulatory compliance, and material innovation work in concert to support high-performance waterproofing and underlayment assemblies.
