George F. Barber Cottage

This Parkridge colonial revival house, built in 1913, was George F. Barber's last residence. He died in 1915 at age 60, just nine days after his wife, Laura Cheney Barber, at age 59. Barber had moved to Knoxville in 1888 from Illinois because of "liver and stomach ailments" (the warmer climate was a draw).
