Dining Out in Austin, Texas
Austin Texas has so many food options, that it can be hard to find the right places! Here's a guide on some places I like to dine at, from food trucks and bakeries to fine dining.
This Eastern Mediterranean restaurant in East Austin will have you ready to return as soon as possible! Don’t skip the frena plus hummus keves, smashed cucumber, or crudo! Menu is soy free minus chicken shawarma.
It would be a shame to come to Austin and not experience the glory that is the GIANT pretzel at Easy Tiger! This is a fun place to gather with friends, plus its dog friendly, so bring Fido!
This is, in my opinion, the best pizza you can get in East Austin. the crust is perfection, the ingredients are fresh, and the atmosphere is date-night-esq yet group friendly. Don’t skip the margherita pizza at Bufalina!
This is the ultimate comfort food place if you’re looking for a big brunch! Giant portions that hit that Sunday morning spot. Try the Texas Peach Cinnamon Bun and Banger’s Bennie to have it my way!
This 100% vegan food truck is all about organic healing through food. Try their tacos, smoothies, sea moss, sweets, and more for a feel good full belly.
Uchi is an Austin masterpiece when it comes to sushi. You won’t be disappointed with your experience here! Besides an everyday dinner, Uchi has great special occasion menus like Valentine’s Day!
Visit Seattle, Washington
Seattle has so much to offer, and I find it a great location for solo travelers. From the tourist destinations like Pike Place, the Space Needle, to the nearby Mount Rainier National Park, and so much more, you can easily find activities to keep you busy in this city for weeks on end.

The Seattle Museum just opened a new expansion at the end of August 2024, so if you've been before, it'll be a new experience! At this aquarium you'll see many local sea creatures as well as animals from other regions.
Tucked below Pike Place is Post Alley, another street to explore by foot. Most notably, you can't miss the Gum Wall, one of the most amazingly disgusting pieces of art I've ever seen. Do not skip this! Also, while you're on Post Alley, check out Post Alley Pizza! Best slices in town.

This 1 hour harbor cruise is how I learned the most about Seattle during my time there, and I'm glad I did it on day 2 of my trip. You'll learn about Seattle's history, architecture, wild life, shipping, sports, etc.
Stop by Blackbird Bakery for your morning coffee and pastries. They have a good selection, including options for gluten free and vegan. The raspberry almond muffin was my favorite!
The ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island is just 35 minutes, and once you're there, you don't need a car. Consider renting a bike to see more. Shop, dine, hike, and explore the island where pickleball was invented.
Head to Discovery Park to experience Seattle's largest green area, with trails leading you through lush greenery to the beaches of Puget Sound. Don't miss the lighthouse once you're there. Pro Tip: Hunt for sea glass!
Visit Moab, Utah
Moab, Utah is an outdoor lovers paradise! From hiking, off-roading, rafting, climbing, cycling, horseback riding, and more, there is an adventure for everyone here.
This is the best place to get your trail lunch at! I like to order breakfast and lunch, eat the breakfast there, then have the lunch made to go so I can take it on the off road trails. I love the chicken corner wrap!
This is a MUST to get in some rock crawling in Moab; just don’t do what I did, and make it the first trail you ever do. It’s challenging, rewarding, and absolutely stunning. Take your own 4x4 or rent one!
This 13.2 mile off road trail is a beautiful, rocky drive! I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary, even if you’re in Moab to conquer trails like Hell’s Revenge. The views make it worth every moment. Bring lunch

Canyonlands is just 40 minutes from downtown Moab. It’s 4 districts offer hiking, stargazing, overlanding, rafting, and more! Canyons and buttes have been formed by the Colorado River- don’t skip the needles or the maze!
If you’re about to head out for an all day adventure, here’s your morning stop: grab a coffee, and order a sandwich to go. Yes, they even offer gluten free bread. the turkey gouda sandwich once saved a hangry me.
If hotels are more your style, I’ve had great stays at Hyatt Place. It’s very clean, has breakfast, laundry, is dog friendly, and more. Off season pricing is hard to beat for the quality of the stay!
Visit San Diego
Here are all of my tips and tricks to explore San Diego county, without missing any of the best hidden gems that America's finest city has to offer. As a San Diego native, these are some things I encourage you do!
If your trip is centered around Downtown San Diego, this Airbnb in the gaslamp quarter is the perfect location for you! This building has more than one listing offered by the same people, so it's also ideal for groups.
Stone Steps Beach in Encinitas is one of the locals choices for sunbathing and swimming. There is street parking and access via staircase. The beach has a lifeguard tower, and is a short walk to Moonlight Beach.
Have some fun outdoors by picking your own bucket of strawberries right off the plant! Depending on the season, there is also sunflowers, pumpkins, a corn maze, petting zoo, and more.

Liberty Station is rich in food, shopping, and history. Spend the afternoon here walking the grounds, dining at one of the many restaurants, and shopping the shops.
Petco Park has got to be one of the best venues for Baseball! There is so much good food, the weather is always perfect for a ball game, and there is no crowd like a San Diego crowd.

The Coaster ride from Oceanside all the way to Downtown San Diego (Santa Fe Depot) is one of the most beautiful things you can do to see the scenery. Make it a day by booking a round trip ticket, and making some stops!
Hot Springs, Arkansas Getaway
Hot Springs Arkansas is the home of Hot Springs National Park and the famous Bathhouse Row. Spend a long weekend here for a quiet yet eclectic getaway.
This Airbnb is conveniently located about 2 minutes outside of downtown Hot Springs, and less than 5 minutes to the observation tower in Hot Springs National Park.

Take the elevator or climb the stairs 216 feet high to get the best view of Hot Springs! I almost didn’t do this because I hate elevators and I’m afraid of heights, but I am glad I climbed the stairs to the top! No dogs.
Hot Springs National Park is an interesting one because it’s pretty much hiking and the town of Hot Springs! A wonderful long weekend trip here wouldn’t be complete without a trail or two in the park.
Bathhouse Row is a street of old Bathhouses- Quapaw and Buckstaff are still operating, and a others have been transformed into other businesses. Don’t forget to find the thermal fountains!

While I can’t speak on the beer, I can tell you that you’ll find the largest chicken strips you’ve ever seen- and they’re delicious! The brewery is dog friendly, the pugs even got bandanas!
This Grateful Dead themed pizza place is a perfect stop for lunch or dinner on your trip to Hot Springs. the covered patio is dog friendly. Try the Maui wowie, Casey Jones, and Dire Wolf. No gluten free crust, sorry!
