The Glencoe

My next stop on the Downtown Home Tour was The Glencoe, which was just around the corner from my first stop. It was built in 1906 (a year before the Elliott) and is very similar to the Elliott in a Classical Revival style (and also was renovated at the same time in the early 2000s). One thing that differentiates it is the front porch, with enough room for a couple of chairs. It is an interesting feature to have for an urban property. Once you enter the building, it has a lovely lobby with patterned tile and a detailed woodwork stair (the Elliott had a similar stair as well). Inside the unit is a similar flow to the Elliott unit, though this unit was only one story. #downtownknoxville #classicalrevival
