Buffat-Bailey House by Martin E. Parmelee

My last stop on the Fourth & Gill Home Tour was the Buffat-Bailey House, on the border of the Old North Knoxville neighborhood. It was built in 1915 in the Arts & Crafts style and was designed by Martin E. Parmelee. Parmelee first worked with George F. Barber when he first came to town, then started working for himself. Parmelee's sons (both architects) also worked with him before moving out of town. The upper arched window with brackets was originally a sleeping porch.
