Lerner Lofts

My next stop on the Downtown Home Tour was the Lerner Lofts. They are named after the Lerner clothing store that used to occupy the building until 1985. However, the building was originally the Gay Theatre when it was built in 1910. The name was changed to the Strand Theatre in 1917. It closed as a theater in 1949, and sometime after the facade was altered greatly. In 2004, it was converted into lofts. This unit was three levels with living on the first, a bedroom on the middle level, and a bedroom plus roof deck on the top level. #downtownknoxville #knoxvilletn
