Parenting

"These points emphasize the importance of parents being firm on key aspects of life to help raise children who are more disciplined, grateful, and resilient in facing life’s challenges. Of course, some of you may disagree and say you want your children to have a freedom of speech in making their own decisions. But in order for them to be able to make the right choices in their life, you have to set the right foundation. Here’s a brief explanation of the three key areas: 1. Food: Don’t ask, “What would you like to eat today?” Instead, teach them to be grateful for what’s provided by saying, “This is the food we have today, and we should be thankful for it.” Parents should take charge in deciding what food is good for their children. Instead of letting them choose or refuse what’s been prepared, teach them to accept and be grateful for the food provided each day as a blessing. 2. Clothing: Rather than asking, “Do you like this outfit?” say, “This is the appropriate and suitable clothing for you to wear.” Clothing reflects the values and standards of the family. A child who is not yet mature doesn’t have the full ability to choose appropriate clothing. Therefore, parents should be firm in deciding what is suitable and proper, rather than letting the child make all the decisions on their own. 3. Home: Avoid saying, “Do you want to live here?” Instead, be firm by stating, “This is our home where we will live, find shelter, and worship, and we should be grateful for it.” A home is a place for shelter, worship, and family. Teaching children to accept and be grateful for the home they have is important, rather than allowing them to fantasize about other options. Being firm in these three areas may seem authoritarian, but the goal is to equip children with the skills to survive and thrive, and most importantly, to grow up with a deep sense of gratitude. #parenting #ourchildrenourfuture #fyp #fypシ #fypag
