I'm Kris. I love chill Ghibli movies, indie games, especially roguelites and roguelikes like Enter The Gungeon and chatting with indie devs about their journies to making great games. I also love food! Cooking and eating.

People seem to think that ANY game can run on Deck. Not true of course, but some games just run VERY well on Deck and it feels like they were made specifically for this handheld gaming computer (no, it's not a console!) So check out the list and tell me any I've missed.

I love this one because, although it's basically just a Survivors-like, it has a cute, appealing art style, and it's Co-OP! Perfect for a chill and a chat with my baby bro, who lives in another country. And it has always run perfectly on Deck, despite still being in Early Access.

The art style is bold and old-school Disney-esque, with the dialogue to match, the characters are distinctive, and the gameplay is hard AF! Plus, it runs really well on Deck, with tight controls and a high frame rate, as you'd expect for a game that ran well on consoles.

Crypt of the NecroDancer

I love how distinctive the gameplay feels in this rhythm game where you and the enemies can only move to the rhythm of the funky music. As you'd expect for a 2D game, it runs well on the Deck with good controls and high frame rates, plus it doesn't drain much of the battery when you are undocked.

NieR:Automata

I always love delving back into the post-apocalyptic world where the existential androids 2B, 9S, and A2 join forces to defeat the machines that have taken over. Exploration feels immersive, even on the fifth or sixth replay and combat is chunky and fluid. And I love the ladder play on this game, I don't know why! Plus the Deck only exists because of this game. So you can expect very high frame rates and controls as tight as 2B's, er... personality.

Darkest Dungeon

Some people hate the RNG (random number generator) on this one, but those people are just silly. Mental breakdowns, fatal heart attacks and all-consuming darkness, along with the ability to heal the mental health of your crew make this one a winner for me. And since it's quite an old 2D game it runs great on Deck.

Enter the Gungeon

I have never played a game with so many satisfying secrets and insane replayability. One of the best old-school bullet hell shooters to come out in recent memory. And runs great on Deck.

Food? Awesome. Art? Amazing. Both combined? Shut the hell up and take my money, my attention and my hand in marriage. These are my top nine focaccia art masterpieces. Which is your favourite?

Sunlit garden scene focaccia

This is yet another masterpiece. Even if it may be slightly overcooked, the creativity shines through. With a sunlit garden, trees swaying in the breeze, and even birds in the sky, this loaf of bread transports me to a beautiful world. Ingredients for topping: parsley, red onion, cherry tomatoes, fresh herbs., red and yellow peppers.
