Manly D. Barber House

This is the Manly D. Barber House, built in 1905, as a variation of Barber's Modern Dwellings Design No. 239 (images from McClung Historical Collection). Instead of the Queen Anne style like a lot of houses in the neighborhood (particularly the Barber ones), this one is a Dutch Colonial Revival (note the gambrel roof that is signature of this style). Manly was George Barber's brother and also a contractor. Over the years, it was divided into apartments and was eventually in such bad shape that it was condemned.
