Caswell-Taylor House (Governor's House) by Baumann Brothers

Bonus House for the 2024 Fourth & Gill Tour of Homes: When reading about the Governor's Row townhomes, I became curious about the original Governor's House aka the Caswell-Taylor House. It was built by William Caswell in 1886 and designed by the Baumann Brothers in the Queen Anne style. Somewhere around the turn of the century Robert Love Taylor purchased it. It fell in disrepair over the years, and in 1983 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places to possibly help rehabilitate it. However, just at couple of years after that it burned down. Image 1 is a sketch of the house from Souvenir Knoxville TN 1889.
