The Holston

Last month I went on the Downtown Home Tour. My first stop was the Holston, which was a former bank building. It was built in 1913 in the Neoclassical Revival style and was designed by the architect, John Kevan Peebles. It is 14 stories, which was the highest in Knoxville at the time it was built. The bottom floors are Tennessee marble, which a creamy yellow brick on the upper stories. It was originally converted into condos in 2005.
