New Orleans Streetcar: A Charming Way to Explore the City

New Orleans Streetcar: A Charming Way to Explore the City

This site covers all the options to see the city. We recommend the dark green St. Charles streetcar, the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world. About a 90-minute round trip swaying along St. Charles Avenue through a tunnel of Live Oaks, the streetcar passes dozens of antebellum mansions, Loyola and Tulane universities, breathtaking Audubon Park, and fine hotels, restaurants, and bars. You can pick it up at the edge of the French Quarter at the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Common Street. For a fare, you can buy an all-day $3 "Jazzy Pass" at the drug store right by there.

Irene's

Since its opening in 1993, Irene’s has remained one of the hottest tickets in town. How owner Irene DiPietro, a baby boomer from a little town in southern Sicily, came to dazzle the palates of the French Quarter’s jaded souls and create an enticing, enchanting setting that is both intimate and homey, is certainly fodder for dining out fanatics. Experience the scrumptious Italian cuisine at Irene's, boasting a 4.5-star rating!
