A few environmental, psychological and social factors have been implicated as potential common risk factors that may exacerbate the two diseases, and an array of complex immune and non-immune inflammatory mediators can potentially explain a plausible link. Pharmacotherapy has also played a role in establishing a potential association, especially with the advent of biological agents which directly act on inflammatory factors shared by the two diseases. This review will look at existing evidence and ascertain a potential correlation between the two.\n","image":{"url":"https://ucarecdn.com/3806bc27-a0e1-483c-89bc-1a69f9f4e601/","alt":"The Association Between Psoriasis and Cardiovascular Diseases - PMC Lock","width":1200,"height":630},"direct_link":"https://stacklist.com/card/956065aa-ed15-4d54-90e7-6a04cec4d11f","created_at":"2025-03-17T13:38:49.807Z","updated_at":null},{"id":"2f7c6d2d-58f1-49ff-b157-622b528ee7d6","position":2,"title":"Increased Cardiovascular Risk in Patients with Psoriasis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis","url":"http://jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacc.2021.02.009#:~:text=Patients%20with%20psoriasis%20are%20up,risk%20increases%20with%20skin%20severity.","note":" Patients with psoriasis are up to 50% more likely to develop cardiovascular disease (CV) disease, and this CV risk increases with skin severity. \n","image":null,"direct_link":"https://stacklist.com/card/2f7c6d2d-58f1-49ff-b157-622b528ee7d6","created_at":"2025-03-17T13:56:09.627Z","updated_at":null},{"id":"777ce1ee-deea-483e-b617-d510349aa21e","position":3,"title":"Psoriasis and Cardiovascular Diseases: A Literature Review to Determine the Causal Relationship","url":"https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5898839/","note":"Many studies have shown an increased risk of cardiovascular morbidity in patients with psoriasis.
