As part of Toronto Climate Week | TOCW , EPICS was fortunate to host Jamie Fine from WJS Energy & BLDG-SCI Advisory for an immersive, hands-on deep dive into the energy modelling process — and what it actually takes to close the gap between design intent and real-world building performance. 🎙️ Jamie walked us through the full energy modelling journey — from geometry and thermal assignments to HVAC setup, parametric modelling, and reporting — demystifying a process that sits at the heart of every serious retrofit and new-build decarbonization strategy. The key insight that landed hardest: 📊 #Energy models aren’t just compliance tools. They are decision-making engines. #Participants then got hands-on with #parametric modelling on EPICS’ immersive touch walls — running live comparisons between systems like Gas DOAS FCUs and All-Electric Heat Pumps, and watching carbon emissions shift in real time with every design decision.
