Alishan is such a unique part of Taiwan and the misty alpine forests feel quite magical. It’s also much cooler here which is welcome relief from Taiwan’s tropical climate. 

In this mini guide you’ll also find our exact two day itinerary, starting at Chiayi station and finishing in Tainan. We highly recommend adding this to your Taiwan itinerary, it’s such a fun experience and it’s so beautiful up on the mountains. 

✨ We stayed in Zhongshan hostel for £50pn which included a fantastic breakfast. If you really want to stay in Alishan Park expect hotel prices to be much higher but at least you’ll be there to catch the famous ‘sea of clouds’ for sunrise 🌅
