We believe people are happiest where they feel the greatest connection – not just to the past but also to the present and the future. As the Dunwoody Preservation Trust (DPT), we do more than just save historic properties. We rehabilitate them so people can enjoy them now. We also host a range of community celebrations and educational events as well as Dunwoody’s only history camp. Our goal is to sustain our superior quality of life by preserving the past, celebrating the present and building the future. If this is the kind of community you want to live in, please join us . Preserving the Past Preserving the Past DPT was born out of the efforts to save the Cheek-Spruill Farmouse, an historic Dunwoody landmark, from becoming a parking lot. In 2018, the Donaldson-Bannister Farm, our most ambitious project, became a public park and special event venue. We also preserve cemeteries, such as the Stephen Martin Cemetery located near Perimeter Mall. Celebrating the Present Celebrating the Present Throughout the year, we host community events that bring us together - Lemonade Days in the spring, Game Night every third Saturday of the month, and History Alive every other month. The Donaldson-Bannister House is the new site of Light Up Dunwoody and the Cheek-Spruill House, the only property we actually own, is the site of many public celebrations. Building the Future Building the Future Happy communities connect their children to the community by teaching them its history and giving them ways to be a part of it. We offer educational opportunities for both kids and adults through school field trips, History Alive, and tours of our properties. Camp Flashback, our summer, Thanksgiving, and Winter camp, lets kids learn about our history by living it. SUPPORT US Learn more about how to sponsor one of our events.
