But it is quite likely that you have used its tech to generate something new in our new AI-driven content world. That’s because the Atlanta-based startup, led by co-founder and CEO Mikhail Avady , has become a go-to platform for photo editors and digital creators of all shapes and sizes. With its distributed network of GPUs and API solution, Prodia allows platforms to easily add generative AI into their applications.   Building Prodia Prodia is working in the major and growing generative AI market, which surpassed $25.6 billion in 2024 . The company’s focus has paid off with impressive early traction. Avady said that photo editors are Prodia’s “bread and butter” customers. In its first month alone, users created over 100 million workflows using Prodia, according to Avady. Now scaling in 2025, the company has reached a seven figure ARR (annual recurring revenue) milestone as it looks to continue to scale. The team raised a $15 million seed round in the summer of 2024, led by San Francisco-based Dragonfly Capital Partners. Southeast-based investors like Jermaine Brown and Southern Equity also joining the round. Now, Avady admitted that “competitors have raised a lot more money” in their efforts to scale similar AI infrastructure for generative media. However, rather than pursuing capital at all costs, Prodia has scaled by focusing on the three things customers care the most about: Quality, latency, and price , Avady added.   Prodia’s logo   ATL Startup Roots While Prodia’s team is spread out across the globe, it has a strong foundation in the Atlanta tech and startup scene. After working at Atlanta-based companies First Data Corporation and Scientific Leads, Avady entered the startup world. While at Voxie , the Atlanta-based text marketing platform, Avady was first introduced to the emerging world of generative AI and was one of the early adopters of generative artificial intelligence chatbots. Joining Avady in the early stages included founders Shawn Wilkinson , who previously served as founder and CSO for the Atlanta-based decentralized cloud storage company Storj and Monty Anderson , who was a software engineer at Storj. Prodia is one of a small but growing number of local startups building the infrastructure for digital creative work. Another company to note is Invoke , and “AI canvas” that helps creatives build their own generative models.
