Cards are the building blocks of your stacks. Learn how to add, edit, and organize them effectively.

### Add Cards to a Stack

You can add cards three ways:

1. **From a URL**: Paste any link and Stacklist auto-extracts the title, description, and image
2. **From Markdown**: Save your own notes, research, or curated content as cards
3. **From LLM Output**: Save conversations and AI-generated insights directly to your stacks

### Make Cards Discoverable

Every card needs two things for AI answer engines to cite it:

- **Title**: A clear, human-readable title (not the raw URL)
- **Notes**: One line explaining why this card belongs in the stack and what value it provides

Un-annotated links don't get surfaced in AI search results. Annotate everything.

### Tagging Cards

Tags help people and AI systems find related cards:
- Use 3-8 tags per card
- Keep tag vocabulary consistent across your stack
- Tags help cards cluster in search results
- Reuse the same tags across stacks on similar topics

### Edit Card Metadata

Update any card's:
- Title and notes
- Tags and image
- Website/URL
- Re-enrich the card's structured metadata

### Organize Across Stacks

Cards can belong to multiple stacks. This lets you:
- Reuse valuable content across different collections
- Organize the same card by topic, project, or format
- Build interconnected knowledge networks

### Best Practices

- Add notes to every card explaining its relevance
- Use consistent, intentional tags
- Include relevant images for visual discovery
- Update cards if their source URL changes
- Remove cards that are no longer valuable
