They could probably be a lot more comfortable than they are, but they still operate like they have something to prove. They negotiate everything with me. They know their numbers cold, show up prepared, are constantly looking at deals and always want to figure out how to get more value out of every dollar they spend. They have plenty of resources behind them, but you would never know it from the way they work. I've also met people with a lot less who already act like they've made it. They're slower, less hungry and somehow too comfortable before they've really built anything. I used to think that hunger naturally disappeared once someone became successful. The more successful people I meet, the less I believe that. Sometimes staying hungry is exactly how people become successful in the first place, and how some families stay successful for generations. 12 3 Comments Copy LinkedIn Facebook X Mike Pollack liked this Report this post Mike Pollack liked this 1800DTC 1800DTC 5d Mike Pollack liked this DEEPS sells a sleep patch that gets thrown away every morning 👀 their stack includes: Outbrain - native placements on publisher sites Awin Global - affiliate program and partner payouts R.O.EYE - affiliate and performance marketing partner Firework - shoppable video on product pages Junip - reviews and UGC on the PDP Hotjar | by Contentsquare - session recordings and heatmaps Skio - subscriptions and swaps Klaviyo - email and SMS lifecycle Smile.io - points and referral loyalty View their full stack here 🔗 1800dtc.com/brands/deeps #dtc #stack #shopify public_profile__reactions 14 1 Comment Copy LinkedIn Facebook X Mike Pollack liked this Report this post Mike Pollack liked this Aaron Wollner Aaron Wollner 5d Mike Pollack liked this Between consulting work and chasing two small kids, I’ve spent the last stretch on a side project that came together quickly. Building the product from scratch was an extremely rewarding experience. It started with helping friends in the neighborhood with their renovation and interior design projects. I noticed the same thing every time — the tech available came up short and like many designers ended up using spreadsheets, Google Drive and Canva. So I built the thing that should exist. Designer Edge is a platform to run an interior design practice. It’s uniquely connected - the intake discerns taste and style and becomes a structured brief. That brief drives the concept, the plan, and what gets sourced — right through selections, approvals, tracking and invoicing. All project management tools have automation underneath so meetings and notes get captured and organized. It aligns the vision in the designer’s head with what the client wants but can rarely put into words. It’s live. Designers are using it. I’m opening a founding cohort — the next 20 designers will start at no cost, lock in founding pricing, and help shape where it goes next. Know an interior designer? I’d love to show them the platform. Some key highlights: - Payment acceptance is infrastructure, not a feature. A declined card during a high-anticipation purchase spreads on social faster than a successful one. - Capture-first flows are expensive. We used hold-then-capture so that invalid transactions never become refunds — no fees, no reconciliation noise. - Payment reconciliation went from 30 days to end-of-day. Structured data collection at checkout meant no manual matching between form submissions and payment records. The system held. Not as cleanly as we'd like. We are already engineering against the numbers we collected. This partnership isn't just about selling tickets; it's about empowering Filipino artists to own their ecosystem with world-class technology. #SB19 #1ZEntertainment #PPop #Fintech #EventTech #Scalability #PayRex #ATIN #TechInnovation 14 Joshua Ludwig ProcessorQX • 1K followers The live event industry has no problem with markups. It has a problem with who is doing the markup. That’s the truth nobody wants to say out loud. Every time brokers and the secondary market come up, people suddenly act like price movement is unethical, like resale is the only place margin exists, and like capping brokers somehow fixes the system. It doesn’t. Because the same people complaining about broker markups are often silent when the primary side does the same thing in different ways. Let’s stop pretending fans only get squeezed in the secondary market. Fans are paying more everywhere. - They pay more through platinum tickets. - They pay more through dynamic pricing. - They pay more through service fees. - They pay more for parking. - They pay more for concessions. - They pay more for merch. - They pay more for VIP upgrades and packaged experiences. So why is markup treated like a business strategy on the primary side, but a moral failure on the secondary side? That double standard is a huge part of what’s wrong with this conversation. I’m against resale caps because they do not solve the actual issue. They don’t fix supply and demand. They don’t improve pricing efficiency. They don’t create fairness. They just create the illusion of control while ignoring how the rest of the ecosystem operates. - Venues need markups to function and profit. - Promoters need markups to function and profit. - Artists, teams, and primary platforms all look for ways to maximize value. Somehow brokers are supposed to be the only people in the market not allowed to do the same? That makes no sense. Brokers take real risk. They commit capital up front. They buy into uncertainty. They absorb losses when demand is soft. They sit on inventory. They help move tickets. They create liquidity. They contribute to price discovery. And in many cases, they are the reason fans can buy below face value when an event underperforms. That part never gets enough attention. People love to point at the high-end resale example, but rarely talk about the thousands of tickets sold at a loss, the risk brokers carry, or the role the secondary market plays in helping clear inventory. You cannot champion dynamic pricing and revenue optimization on the primary side, then suddenly reject market behavior when it happens somewhere else in the chain. If we’re going to have an honest conversation about pricing in live entertainment, then let’s have the whole conversation. Not just the part that is easy to blame. Because resale is not the only place profit exists. Brokers are not the only ones capturing value. Secondary markets are not the enemy of the live event business. They are part of it. #Ticketing #LiveEvents #TicketResale #SecondaryMarket #Brokers #DynamicPricing #PricingStrategy #FanExperience #EventIndustry #LiveEntertainment #ConcertIndustry #SportsBusiness #PrimaryMarket #TicketBroker #EntertainmentBusiness #PriceDiscovery #Venues #Promoters #Artists #Teams 13 Tersh Blissett Trade Automation Pros • 10K followers As leaders in this industry, we have to think beyond just what’s possible with AI. I see it from a different perspective. Roku's power is in the hardware and platform: it's the entertainment operating system in 100 million homes. Sure, it dabbled in its own content and programming, but its leverage was being the neutral shelf everyone else had to live on. Now Fox owns that shelf, and it gets to decide what it would like sitting at the front. 🔮Zooming out, the bigger signal is a pattern of purchasing neutrality. Publicis acquired LiveRamp, the data connector that wasn't supposed to buy or sell media. The Trade Desk acquired Sincera, the scorekeeper that wasn't supposed to bid in the auctions it graded. And now Fox snatches up an independent Roku, the biggest one yet. So, while I'm happy for my fellow Roku friends and colleagues on being part of a massive acquisition (they truly built something so valuable), I worry that what viewers call 'choice' shrinks a little every time another big company gets its thumb on the scale. 11 Eric Franchi 8K followers Excited to share that Aperiam has invested in Bedrock Platform. Obvious statement of the century: programmatic advertising has a complexity problem. The infrastructure that was built to give media buyers control has, over time, done the opposite. Burying teams under layers of operational overhead, legacy tooling, and opaque supply chains. Bedrock is built on a simple but powerful thesis: what if you stripped away the bloat and rebuilt the stack around what actually matters... precision, transparency, and speed to execution. Their platform combines AI-driven campaign automation with curated, premium inventory across video, CTV, DOOH, and audio, and aims to be flexible and get smarter over time. Plus, the team (Shane, Austin, Ryan, James) has deep roots in the infrastructure layer of ad tech and understands the plumbing better than almost anyone. We believe the next generation of programmatic will be leaner, faster and AI-first. Bedrock is building that. 108 14 Comments Show more posts Show fewer posts Explore top content on LinkedIn Find curated posts and insights for relevant topics all in one place.
