Beach badges will be sold at preseason rates through June 1, 2026. Beach badges are required for all individuals 12 and older. Regular seasonal beach tags for those 12 and older will be sold at a preseason fee of $25 each until June 1 st . After June 1 st , regular seasonal tags will increase to $40 per person. Seasonal senior beach tags for those 65 and older will be sold at a preseason price of $15 each until June 1 st . After June 1 st , senior tags will increase to $20 each. For beach tag sales update please click here . How to Purchase Beach Tags Online : https://www.jerseycapetags.com/ - physical tags will be mailed to your home. Borough Hall and the Community Building (33 rd Avenue and the Beach) : Cash and check accepted. Please call or check the web to see times and locations as they will vary throughout the season. Mail-in form: Please click here for the mail-in form. Forms with checks made out to the ‘Borough of Longport’ must be postmarked by June 1, 2026. Tags will not be mailed. They will be available for pick up either at Borough Hall or the Longport Community Building. Call for more information as tags are moved from Borough Hall to the Community Building after the preseason sale. My Beach Mobile App: Digital beach tags can be purchased through the My Beach Mobile App. Once purchased, the digital tags are stored in the app as an animated QR code that can be shown to tag checkers. All purchases are final. The purchase can be as either a digital tag or physical tag. Physical tags can be picked up at either Borough Hall or the Longport Community Building. Purchase is either for a digital or physical tag. You cannot have both. Beach Information 2026 The Borough of Longport provides guarded beaches during the summer months beginning Memorial Day weekend. Beaches are open full time on May 30th through Labor Day. Beach hours of operation are 10 am – 6 pm daily – please refer to Longport’s beach opening resolution for information as to when each beach opens full time for the season. Please check the Longport Beach Patrol Instagram for updates and additional information. You can always call the Beach Headquarters at (609) 822-3898 to speak with a member of the patrol. Public Restrooms Restrooms from Memorial Day through Labor Day are open as follows: Longport Community Building located at 33rd Avenue and the Beach – hours are from 8 am to 6 pm Monday – Sunday. Longport Borough Hall located at 2305 Atlantic Avenue – hours are (closed on holidays) weekdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm and weekends from 9 am to 6 pm. Handicap Access The Borough of Longport has handicap locations for ramp access to the beach. These areas include: 16th, 27th, 32nd, 33rd and 35th avenues. A Beach Transport Program is available for those who require assistance over the dunes. Membership and an application form are required. For more information and to apply, please click here. (Please link this to the program information on the Recreation Department page: https://www.longportnj.gov/Departments/recreation-department Kayak Beaches Longport has designated the following locations for launching and retrieving kayaks: Between 14th and 15th Avenues; between 22nd and 23rd Avenues; between 27th and 29th Avenues and between 32nd and 33rd Avenue’s drainage pipe. Surfing Beaches Longport has designated the following locations for surfing and surf riding: 12th, 22nd, 28th, and 32nd avenues. No person shall engage in the sport of surfing or surf riding within the Borough of Longport at any other location except as specified above between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM. Tennis, Pickle Ball and Basketball Courts, Playground Longport’s recreation area including tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts as well as a playground is located at 33rd and Atlantic avenues. (please link here https://www.longportnj.gov/Departments/recreation-department) Dogs on the Beach Summer rule: Commencing on, and to include May 1, and continuing to and including September 30, dogs are permitted on Longport beaches fronting the Atlantic Ocean from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., provided that the dog is securely fastened to a leash and accompanied by and under control of some person. Winter rule: Commencing October 1 and continuing through April 30, dogs are permitted on Longport beaches, provided that the dog is securely fastened to a leash and accompanied by and under control of some person. Please clean up after your dog in a sanitary manner. Tents on the Beach Erecting a tent or adjacent tents which in total exceeds 100 square feet is not permitted on Longport beaches. The following type of tents are permitted: "pop-up" or "cabana" type tents that fold up and are transported in a carry bag. Grilling on the Beach Charcoal barbecue grills are prohibited; however, an exception to the foregoing prohibition may be permitted by the Borough of Longport pursuant to an adopted resolution permitting charcoal barbecue grills at certain times and under certain safety, sanitary and other conditions as may be contained in any such resolution.
