Product Description Elevation ® SM2™ is a multi-purpose, gun-grade STPE (Silyl Terminated Polyether Technology) sealant. Engineered as a part of the Elevation ® ONE Waterproofing System, Elevation ® SM2 is approved for use with Elevation ® S60 Sheet Waterproofing Membrane. Elevation ® SM2 is used to seal all seams, terminations, and edges of the membrane, providing an additional line of defense against the intrusion of liquid water below the waterproofing system. Elevation ® SM2 is designed to bond and cure in the presence of liquid water, and will tolerate water immersion immediately after application allowing it to be applied in wet weather and on damp substrates. This unique property allows for flood testing of the balcony immediately after completing the balcony waterproofing system installation. When used per applicable guidelines, this product may contribute to LEED ® certification 5. Instructions General Surface Prep Address excessive moisture if necessary. Maintain recommended temperature and humidity. Avoid extreme conditions. Perform a final check to clear debris prior to installation. Installation of Product Always read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full precautionary instructions before use. Use the product as packaged without dilution or alteration. Tools Required • 20 oz Sausage Tube Caulk Gun (or 30 oz Caulk Gun) • Putty Knife • Knife Preparation • Ensure the waterproofing membrane is properly installed before applying the sealant • Substrate and ambient temperature must be between 32°F (0°C) and 110°F (43°C) Application 1. Seam and Edge Sealing: – Apply a 3/8" bead of Elevation ® SM2 ™ along all seams, terminations, and exposed edges of the Elevation ® S60 membrane, including the vertical leg of the S60 12" 2. Corner and Detail Sealing: – Apply SM2 sealant to all door seams, exterior corners, and details. Extend the sealant to the interior of the door frame and sill as necessary 3. Trough and Embed Pan Sealing: – For seams extending past the TTP (Trough Transition Point), apply SM2 to the seam, including the vertical cut, but avoid applying to the bottom of the extension – Seal the perimeters of Elevation ® Embed Pans ™ where the S60 membrane overlaps the embed pan plate 4. Tooling the Sealant: – Lightly tool the applied sealant with a dry putty knife, joint knife, or spatula within 2-3 minutes of application. – Ensure the finished sealant extends 1" on either side of the seam or edge and has a thickness of 1/8" at the seam. Do not use soapy water during tooling. 5. Avoid Over-Application: – Apply carefully to prevent excess material that could form a dam and impede water drainage from the deck under the wear layer. Curing • Elevation ® Pan Sealant is sensitive to heat and moisture. Higher temperatures and/or high humidity will accelerate the cure time. • At 70 º F and 50% Relative Humidity product fully cures in 7 days. Cleaning of Equipment Equipment should be cleaned with an environmentally safe solvent, as permitted under local regulations, immediately after use. Storage & Handling • Store at 70 º F / 21 º C with 50% RH. • Shelf Life of 6 months from date of manufacture. Health Precautions • Wear gloves and eye protection during the installation of Pan Sealant • Follow all local safety regulations, including OSHA Section V: Chapter 4 for Fall Protection in Construction • Always review the full label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed precautionary instructions before use. • Ensure proper safety equipment and job-site controls are in place during application and handling.
