Matey AI 1,098 followers 1w Report this post One thing I’ve learned from speaking with litigators every day is that nobody wants AI making decisions for them. They want faster access to the facts. They want timelines built in minutes instead of days. They want inconsistencies surfaced before a deposition or trial. They want to ask natural-language questions across an entire case file and get citation-backed answers. The attorney still owns the strategy. The attorney still owns the outcome. AI simply helps them get there faster. Great post, Rick. Rick Ordemann 1w I have a fondness for acronyms, especially on license plates. They're like fun little puzzles that randomly pop into your life. LegalTech is filled with acronyms: ESI, ECA, TAR, CAL (cheers to being able to use it again!), and many, many more. A new acronym has entered the LegalTech zeitgeist: HAR or 'human AI-assisted review'. To be honest, not my favorite. I will, however, take this opportunity to promote what I've been saying almost my whole career: AI, in the context of legal, should be interpreted as 'augmented intelligence'. Matey AI was purposefully built to keep the human in the loop because we know the combination of Humans + AI continues to be the best solution. This is 'augmented intelligence'. Taking what humans do best and supercharging it with what machines do best.
