# Camp Meeker by Renee Del Gaudio

Camp Meeker by Renée del Gaudio Architecture | Citation / Custom Rural or Vacation House | RD Architecture Awards 2026 Camp Meeker is quickly recognizable as an aesthetic triumph. “It’s an elevated cabin—a beautiful home with beautiful interiors,” the jury commented. “You can imagine entering along the sloped roof wall and feeling the compression, then opening into the main space.” But more importantly, the cabin is an expression of family continuity. In the 1950s, the client’s grandmother built a one-room cabin in a remote valley near Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Enjoyed by three generations, the old cabin could no longer contain an increasingly wide circle. Architect Renée del Gaudio’s task was to design a new retreat that would fit the large extended family within 2,100 square feet. Her solution was to create three compact sleeping nooks, accommodating up to four couples, and give the kids a large sleeping loft as well as a roof deck.
