At 3% in processing fees, that's $1,200 gone every month. $14,400 a year. Not to your landlord. Not to your supplier. To your processor. And here's where it gets worse. Some merchants are paying even more than that. Not because their volume is low. Not because they're high-risk. Because they're on a tiered pricing model that costs significantly more than interchange-plus. Same terminal. Same customers. Same cards. Different pricing structure. According to IntelliPay's March 2026 data, switching from tiered to interchange-plus can reduce your effective rate by 0.5% to 1.0%. On $40,000 a month, that's $200 to $400 back in your pocket. Every month. Without touching a single thing your customer sees. If you've been on tiered pricing for three years at that volume, you may have overpaid by $7,200 to $14,400 compared to interchange-plus. That money didn't disappear. It just moved from your pocket to theirs. Start by asking one question. "Am I on tiered or interchange-plus pricing?" The math isn't complicated once you can see it. Most merchants just never get shown the real numbers. Want me to walk through how to read your statement? Say the word. #MerchantFees #PaymentProcessing #SmallBusinessFinance #NOOMERIK Nik Hall REViVE Marketing Partners • 17K followers Most founders obsess over product. Then wonder why their Amazon launch tanks. Here's the truth: Amazon doesn't care about your product. It cares about conversion. If shoppers don't buy fast, the algorithm buries you. Doesn't matter how much you spend on ads. You get a honeymoon phase. Two to twelve weeks where Amazon gives you a shot. But grace doesn't guarantee sales. If you want to win, you need to align with buyer intent from day one: • Relevance beats creativity. Stop inventing demand. People search for what they want. Not "premium hydration innovation." Electrolyte powder. Sugar-free electrolyte drink. Match the search. • Out-execute competitors. Study top sellers. Match their strengths. Crush their weaknesses. Your offer needs to be elite. Not good. Elite. • Price drives conversion. You don't decide what your product is worth. The market does. I dropped price by one dollar for a client. Conversion jumped 30%. Sales accelerated. Rank climbed. That's the flywheel working. • Images sell, not art. Lifestyle photos make you feel good. Selling photos make you money. Show value. Show differentiation. Show reasons to buy now. Most brands think Amazon is a search engine. It's not. It's a shopping engine. And shopping engines reward whoever converts best. Want to rise? Reduce friction. Want to scale? Increase conversion. Want to dominate? Stop designing for admiration. Start designing for action. Conversion is king. Everything else is noise. If you want me to audit your listing's conversion levers and tell you exactly what's holding back rank and revenue, comment "Audit" below. 20 17 Comments Wells Westmoreland Aperture • 1K followers We helped a medical cannabis brand grow from $8k to $47k/mo organic revenue in 1 year. Here’s how: 1. Built category pages Our client had one category page when we started – their “Shop All” page. The issue with this approach is that a single page can’t possibly serve the search intent of (and therefore rank for) every product-related search term that applies to your business. So, we built 10+ category pages for the different types of products they sold (RSO gummies, RSO syringe, etc), and we’ve since built ~20 more to capture new “edibles” keywords. 2. Developed blog content To increase topical authority (thereby helping their category pages rank) and drive middle- and top-of-funnel traffic, we developed blog posts on a variety of relevant topics. But we didn’t just write about “what is RSO” or “how to use RSO,” we went deeper into the funnel with topics like: -Best PRODUCT -BRAND vs BRAND vs. OUR CLIENT There are plenty of purchase-intent keywords you can rank for with your blog. Don’t limit yourself to informational content. We recognized this and acted accordingly. 3. Built location pages To capture demand from people looking for RSO near them, we created pages for various states and cities throughout the US. These drive traffic from keywords with the location in them (e.g. “RSO denver”) as well as from “near me” keywords typed in by people in the various localities that we built pages for. Again, don’t limit your revenue by ignoring local keywords just because you’re not a local brand. Chances are, a good portion of the people who search these terms would be open to buying online if you clearly communicate WHY it’s beneficial to do so. Don’t do “national” SEO or “local” SEO – just do SEO. 4. Built links & parasite SEO placements To increase our client’s authority and help them rank for more revenue-driving keywords, we built 4-8 links / mo, with most of them being link insertions and another small portion (especially as of recent) being parasite SEO placements, which serve the dual benefit of authority for traditional SEO and relevance for GEO / AI visibility. For the link insertions, we found websites with content about medical cannabis, cannabis, or natural wellness, more generally, and asked them to add a link to our client’s site. We’ve built most of the links to their homepage, with a few category page links sprinkled in. For the parasite placements (our client sells RSO), we published articles on high-authority websites about topics like: - best RSO - what is RSO - best RSO syringes - Good results for year 1, but we’re just getting started If you need help with your cannabis brand’s SEO, send me a DM. 11 2 Comments Fan Bi The Hedgehog Company • 25K followers DTC brands doing $3m-$10m DTC, assuming you have product releases 1-2x a quarter, what does your marketing team look like? If you're making mass changes to product pages via importing and exporting CSVs from Shopify, MAKE 100% SURE the very first row of each unique product URL / handle is the one that has all of the product details (none of the product image or product variant rows should be above this one!). When I exported a CSV via a Google Sheets tab after making changes, the ordering had gotten screwed up somehow. No idea. After importing into Shopify, it deleted all but one product image for each one of my client's 880+ products. The worst part is I had backups in case things went wrong. I had a backup for the site AND a backup of the original exported product CSV from Shopify. Even when trying to restore the site and re-import the backup CSV it WILL NOT RESTORE MEDIA OBJECTS (like images). They're gone. I might even get fired for this idk. Expensive lesson. I had noooooo idea. You would think that with a backup- you'd have a backup. Nope. Shopify imports are unsafe. Please! Make sure that first row of each unique product handle is the one with all of the details. Double verify before importing back into Shopify or you risk absolutely decimating the media and potentially other things. 4 1 Comment Ronak Shah My Obvi • 41K followers I speak to more than a dozen DTC founders every week, and most of them obsess over getting people TO checkout. Almost nobody thinks about what happens AFTER someone decides to buy. That's a massive missed opportunity. Your cart, checkout, and confirmation pages are the highest-intent moments in your entire funnel. The customer just proved they trust you with their money. Their wallet is literally still open. But most brands just say "thanks for your order" and show them a tracking number. If that sounds like you, there's anywhere from $4 to $7 per order you just missed because you treated your whole checkout process like a formality instead of a revenue stream. If you thought of those moments differently, you could be: - Offering complementary products they'll actually want - Presenting premium brand offers that add pure margin - Building incremental revenue with zero CAC At Obvi, we've been testing this aggressively. We're adding $0.50 per order, which translates to $10K/month in pure profit with zero impact on retention or conversion. Just better use of the real estate we already own. Problem is, most founders don't know where to start or what actually works without killing their conversion rates. That's why Aftersell by Rokt put together a guide that breaks down exactly how top DTC brands are capturing this revenue without tanking their checkout experience. It includes practical frameworks on how to: - Increase AOV by $4-7 without adding inventory risk - Protect conversions by addressing the 4 emotions that cause abandonment - Apply the "Yes Ladder" framework for high-margin post-purchase offers - Layer on $0.30-0.50 of pure profit per order with ROKT Thanks If you're not monetizing your checkout flow yet, this is the clearest breakdown I've seen on how to do it right. Every smart DTC founder is doing these 3 things TODAY: 1. See where your funnel is bleeding vs your competitors. Pull up your checkout. Pull up AG1's. Pull up RYSE's. Drop all 3 screenshots in. Opus tells you exactly where each brand is making more money than you. Default subscriptions. Hidden one-time options. Free gifts lifting AOV by $40. A CRO consultant takes 4 weeks to find this. And charges $20K. I did it in 90 seconds. 2. Reverse engineer your competitors' ad accounts. Screenshot every ad your top 5 competitors are running on Meta Ad Library. Drop them in. Opus tells you which hooks are showing up across multiple brands (saturated angles), which creative has been live 30+ days, and which brand has an angle nobody else found (your opening). You just got the playbook your competitors are paying $50K/month to test. 3. Read your own customer reviews. Including the photos. Pull 200 reviews off your PDPs. Text AND photos. Opus reads everything. Comes back with: every dented box, every fit issue, every product that showed up the wrong color, every flavor people hate. 4.6 couldn't read review photos. 4.7 can. If you're not running this by Monday you're losing ground to the ones who are. I write every day about what I'm seeing across top brands I work with. The reality: someone else was already selling your product on Amazon. Just badly. Here's what actually happens when a DTC brand takes Amazon seriously: 1. You control the narrative Counterfeit and grey market sellers fill the vacuum when you're absent. Brand Registry + an official listing removes them and puts you in charge of the presentation. 2. You capture demand you weren't getting Amazon has 300M+ active customers. Many search there first — even for brands they already know. Without a listing, you're invisible at the moment of intent. 3. Your Shopify site benefits Amazon often drives brand awareness that converts on your DTC site later. The customer journey isn't linear. 4. You can protect margin A controlled listing with proper pricing strategy doesn't have to race to the bottom. Bundle products, use Brand Registry tools, and price with intention. The brands that lose on Amazon are the ones that show up without a strategy. The ones that win treat it like a second flagship store — not a clearance channel. I help DTC brands set up and launch on Amazon properly. The setup process is simpler than most expect. #AmazonBrandRegistry #DTCBrands #EcommerceStrategy #AmazonSeller #BrandProtection 6 5 Comments Cody Wittick Kynship • 12K followers I’m the Co-CEO of a DTC growth agency working with brands like M&Ms, WildBird. Here are 9 agency truths I would tell DTC brands if I weren’t afraid to hurt their feelings. 9. Growing your business is not the agency's job. We call ourselves an e-commerce growth agency, but growth is not our job. The CEO's job is to coordinate all the moving pieces of the business. The agency's job is to be world class at our specific piece of that puzzle. 8. You want your agency to make good margin on you. Brands celebrate 85% gross margin but complain when agencies make margin on them. It goes both ways. If your agency doesn't make good margin on you, you won't get good service. 7. No agency wants to churn clients. Everyone worries agencies will blow through their budget to make more money. The reality is they won't because you'll fire them. Client retention is way cheaper than constantly acquiring new business. 6. Everyone gets in a tissy about agency pricing structures. When you find someone who actually delivers value, the pricing becomes way less important. Price is correlative to value. 5. One in-house hire can't match agency-level pattern recognition. One person cannot have the pattern recognition that comes from managing dozens of accounts. Agencies see what's universal across brands and what's not. 4. Exceptional growth talent is expensive whether agency or in-house. The supply demand dynamics are brutal. Every e-commerce brand wants great growth people, but great growth people are rare. Don't shop on price. 3. If your business has fundamental problems, no agency can save you. We can make our piece excellent, but if your product sucks, your margins are terrible, or your fulfillment is broken, you're still going to struggle. 2. Tangible growth takes months. That's why we forecast the business 12 months ahead and constantly reforecast every month. Anyone promising overnight success is lying to your face. 1. Growth is a team sport. Is it Patrick Mahomes or Andy Reid? Tom Brady or Bill Belichick? There's 22 people on the field. It takes everyone to win the Super Bowl. Business is the same way. If you're doing $2-50M and need a team that's brutally honest about what we can and can't fix. Let's talk. Link’s in my bio. 40 6 Comments Hilart Abrahamian RevenueKit • 4K followers Two weeks ago I ruffled some feathers on Linkedin by sharing my "vibe-coded" cannabis retail data platform.. so this week I decided to do it all over again. 😂 My platform is now automatically scraping Google Business Profile data from dispensaries in New York and matching it to the licenses that we pulled from the state's database. This way you can know for sure if that retailer is open for business or not. And you'll have enriched data that includes their GMB image, website URL, phone number, star rating, reviews, and so on. I personally haven't seen other cannabis data platforms do this, but if you've seen it let me know and I'm happy to change my statement. Comment below what feature I should build next that you've been wanting but haven't found in the industry. 👇 20 3 Comments Steve Riparip Tact Firm • 11K followers Dispensaries say they don’t have any extra money for critical marketing but have $100k+ in aged inventory… After experimenting with Happy Buyers from Happy Cabbage, and using slick tools from CASA RETAIL, dispensaries can have hundreds of thousands of dollars tied up in aged inventory that will take 90+ days to sell. We’re not blaming the purchasers here. Many factors could have led to having such high stock of slow moving SKUs. The important part is: if that inventory was freed up into cash flow, it can be used to fund marketing that helps move high-margin products and bring more customers back in. If you’re a dispensary that wants to run some tests with us… DM me and let’s get that product off your shelves and cash back in your flow. 51 7 Comments Sachit Adhikari SCSS CONSULTING PTY LTD • 6K followers How you think you should build cannabis tech: - Copy successful startups from other industries - Build the most advanced AI-powered solution - Target the biggest possible market from day one How you actually build cannabis tech: - Solve boring operational problems that clinics and pharmacies face daily - Build simple tools that 60+ year old pharmacy owners can use - Focus on one specific workflow until you dominate it Make people WANT to pay for your solution because it saves them hours every week. Varnit Dhoundiyal Pet Excel Marketing • 6K followers $100M+ ARR Pet Brand Spot & Tango Invests $3.5M+ Into Brand. Here’s Why It Matters Most pet brands wait too long to make this move. Spot & Tango didn’t wait. At $100M+ ARR and growing 50% YoY, they just launched their largest marketing push ever: ▪️ $3.5M+ into TV advertising and out-of-home (OOH) advertising ▪️ Additional investment into field marketing ▪️ Total marketing spend up 50% year over year What they’re actually doing This isn’t just “running ads.” It’s a multi-layered brand campaign across channels: 1. TV with a DTC twist Campaign: Dog Food, Solved Channels include: Paramount, Peacock, Hulu, ESPN, Fox Sports, Nat Geo, and more But here’s the shift: ▪️ Real customers featured ▪️ Proven social ad creators used ▪️ Performance-tested creatives scaled They took what worked in DTC… and pushed it into TV. 2. OOH built for contrast Campaign: Looks Better Location: New York City ▪️ Street-level placements ▪️ Billboards ▪️ Truck-side ads ▪️ Subway takeover planned The strategy is simple: Make UnKibble visually compete with kibble. Not premium brands. Not niche competitors. The mass market. 3. Field marketing that builds culture They’re taking the brand offline: 2026 Short-Legged Athletics Tour ▪️ Dachshunds ▪️ Corgis ▪️ Basset hounds This is not just activation. ▪️ It builds community ▪️ It creates brand memory ▪️ It deepens emotional connection What this actually means for founders This isn’t about one campaign. It’s about where the category is going. 1. The DTC playbook is hitting its ceiling Spot & Tango scaled on: ▪️ Lower funnel ▪️ Direct response ▪️ Attributable channels Now they’re shifting budgets before growth slows. That’s the signal. 2. Fresh pet food is not a share game It’s a conversion game. Most founders think competition = other premium brands. Wrong. ▪️ 80%+ of households still feed kibble ▪️ That’s the real market ▪️ That’s what needs to change 3. Brand spend is becoming table stakes Look at the landscape: ▪️ The Farmer's Dog scaled past $1B with consistent TV investment ▪️ Ollie is no longer independent after acquisition ▪️ Freshpet dominates retail distribution Spot & Tango sits in the middle. This move protects that position. What to watch next ▪️ Does The Farmer’s Dog respond or stay silent? ▪️ Does Spot & Tango maintain 50% YoY growth post-campaign? ▪️ Do Petco, PetSmart, and Chewy accelerate private label fresh food? Because if this works… Brand becomes mandatory at scale. The takeaway If you’re building in pet and relying only on performance marketing… You’re exposed. The next phase of growth is brand-led category conversion. Curious how you’re thinking about this shift: ▪️ Are you still leaning heavily on performance marketing? ▪️ Or starting to invest more into brand? We reviewed an up-to-date report and found the real issue was they weren’t ranking, competitors were taking the traffic, and high-intent customers couldn’t find them. So we used our AI system to map: • where they ranked • who was outranking them • which keywords actually drive revenue Then we fixed what mattered. Top 3 across a 10-mile radius. 450+ new customers a month. Consistent growth. And the truth is, this works for any local business. Stop relying on foot traffic and start controlling it. It's about you working 70-hour weeks while your kids ask why you missed another dinner. It's about wondering if leadership is one bad quarter away from "restructuring" your role. It's about carrying the weight of that last bad hire who cost you $200K and six months of momentum. You're not failing. The system is. Post-and-pray recruiting doesn't work for transformational roles. Neither does hoping the perfect candidate stumbles across your LinkedIn job post between 200 others. What actually works: 🔹 Building targeted pipelines before you need them 🔹 Embedding interim talent Day 1 while you hire right 🔹 Using scorecards that predict performance, not pedigree You didn't get to your level by doing things halfway. Stop recruiting that way. What's keeping you working past midnight – missing targets or missing talent? 14 2 Comments Leah Haselhorst Seed Talent • 5K followers [Cool Highlight] During a sold-out retail panel at IgniteIt Cannabis in New Jersey, Seed Talent received a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, team development, and building stronger retail experiences through education. Education is not a line item. It’s leverage. And for me, this one hit on a deeper level. I first met David E Vautrin back in my Cresco Labs and Continuum days. We were all building in a very different chapter of this industry. I was deep in large-scale events & activations at Hall of Flowers, and Dave was always so supportive. --> Fast forward, and now we’ve come full circle - aligned again in supporting FLUENT Cannabis and advancing the mission at Seed Talent! Dave consistently championed learning as a competitive advantage and that conviction matters. 1. When you lead with integrity. --> The right partnerships resurface. 2. When you stay committed to raising the standard. --> The right rooms open. 3. When you keep showing up for the long game. --> The work compounds. Grateful to see education take center stage in these conversations! It's clear that the retailers who prioritize their people will always outpace the ones chasing shortcuts. And thank you to Allison G. & Anne Forkutza for snagging this footage! . . #cannabiseducation #retailtraining #budtendereducation #cannabiscommunity 41 8 Comments Fast forward, and now we’ve come full circle - aligned again in supporting FLUENT Cannabis and advancing the mission at Seed Talent!
