Neighbors are friendly and I've never had any issues with safety here. Love the access to all the fun things in Orlando, can access a whole bunch without a car. Depending on where in the neighborhood, the option to take the Lynx bus (link 13 in particular to either Downtown or UCF) is great. Homes have a lot of character but unfortunately are being demo-ed for soul-less David Weekly homes. Lots of great local businesses in the commercial area. Lots of options for groceries, including an Asian grocer, within 2 miles (Aldis, Sprouts, Publix, iFresh Market, Gordon Food Service). There's also a great farmers market every Monday night where you can get fresh produce, seafood, and delicious sourdough. Mix of native gardens, micro farms (love Fleet Farming!) sprinkled among the neighborhood due to no HOA. Don't have any opinion on the school, but it is very awesome to see kids still walking and biking to school in the mornings/afternoons. ... North Quarter itself is extremely convenient for commuting as you have access to I4 and Colonial (50) right away. It is very close to a major hospital system, and lots of local boutiques and restaurants. Although it is easy to get to your destination there is a ton of traffic. I would say the benefit to North Quarter is the diversity, proximity to restaurants and popular Orlando neighborhoods, and the bike trail. We took advantage of the Urban Bike Trail for both biking and walking. I wouldn't say I felt totally safe at night as there were often drunk or questionable people, but during the day there were no issues (walking Virginia, Ivan Hoe, etc).
