# Warriors on Board

Engaging a younger audience to ensure that veterans are not forgotten. Services Connections Strategy Brand & Creative Strategy Creative Development Video Production Oversight Media Planning & Buying Outputs Online Video Sweepstakes Paid Media Planning Product Development Wounded Warrior Project needed to bring in new and younger supporters to continue their mission of ensuring that “veterans are not forgotten.” To generate and drive awareness for Wounded Warrior Project we focused on passions that veterans and Gen Z share. The goal was to help younger generations relate to veterans, understand their experiences, and value their sacrifices. We identified their common interests like mental health, art therapy, and skateboarding and through that, created Warriors On Board. The initiative features 11 veterans creating 11 skateboard designs to express their own personal journeys through art therapy to promote mental health for veterans. Experiences like trauma, depression, and PTSD are incredibly difficult to articulate into words, so we gave Wounded Warrior Project veterans a skateboard as a canvas to express themselves and their mental health journeys. All of the veteran-designed skateboards can be seen on the campaign microsite WarriorsOnBoard.org, alongside photos of the veteran, a bio about them and their time in the service, and an artist statement to explain their inspiration. Additionally, creators with large Gen Z followings will highlight the campaign and the artwork in their feeds to bring new audiences into the Warriors On Board program. Lastly, 1,000 veteran-designed skateboards will be given away during the Warriors On Board Sweepstakes. Winners who receive a board will have an instant connection to that particular veteran and their story.
