# Check 2: SP1 Primer Application and Coverage

Check 2: SP1 Primer Application and Coverage 
Hold Point: Do not apply S60 membrane until primer has fully flashed off and cured. 
Pre-Application Conditions 
[ ] Ambient temperature is above 40°F (4°C) and rising 
[ ] Substrate temperature is above 40°F 
[ ] No rain or dew expected during application or flash-off window 
[ ] Substrate passes Check 1: dry, clean, cured 
[ ] Wind speed is acceptable: no conditions that will cause uneven application or premature skinning 
Application 
[ ] SP1 is applied at the correct coverage rate (confirm with FM spec sheet for substrate type) 
[ ] Primer is applied in a uniform, continuous film: no holidays, pinholes, or missed areas 
[ ] All edges, coves, and transitions are primed, not just the field 
[ ] Vertical surfaces to receive membrane are primed to the full termination height 
[ ] No puddling or excess primer in low spots 
Flash-Off and Cure 
[ ] Primer has fully flashed off: tacky to the touch but not transferring to glove 
[ ] Flash-off time observed per FM spec (typically 30 to 60 min at 70°F, longer at lower temps) 
[ ] Membrane application begins within the open time window: not too early, not too late 
[ ] No rain or foot traffic on primed surface before membrane is applied
