Chattahoochee Handweavers Guild The mission of the Chattahoochee Handweavers Guild is to promote and preserve weaving and other fiber related arts through education, programs and outreach to the community. join CHG donate to CHG member login What's coming up 2026 Fall Workshops with Suzi Ballenger Ito Ito Workshop – Friday, September 18th 1pm – 4pm Transforming Tools and Weaving Wonders – September 19-20, 2026, 10am – 5pm Suzi Ballenger pursues the connections between craftsman and machine by pushing pre-conceived boundaries of weaving with her choices of fiber and tools. She strives to realize the fullest expression of threaded order, disorder, function, and form to show the simple and amazing beauty of cloth. An unending curiosity for material stimulates this language of hand and craft, believing these characteristics are enhanced through a deep understanding of the architecture of warp and weft. We’re on our Summer Break from Meetings We’ll be back Friday, September 18th, for an evening meeting Guests are always welcome to attend the meeting in Room 201, Dunwoody Cultural Arts Center, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, Georgia 30338 Then & Now: Every Weaver Begins Somewhere Every fiber has a story—and every weaver has a beginning. Our Then & Now display celebrates the creative journey of our members by pairing an early piece with a more recent work. Together, they tell a story of learning, persistence, discovery, and growth. Whether it’s your very first potholder, a first scarf, or a complex handwoven masterpiece, every project represents another step in a weaver’s journey. We hope this exhibit inspires you to embrace the learning process, celebrate progress, and remember that every accomplished fiber artist once started with a single thread. Whether you are brand new to fiber arts or have years of experience at the loom, there is a place for you here. Our guild is made up of weavers, spinners, tapestry artists, and makers of all kinds, each bringing their own perspective, curiosity, and creativity. We believe that learning and inspiration grow through connection. You might join us to explore a new craft, deepen your skills, or simply enjoy the company of others who understand the joy of fiber. Bring a recent project for show and tell, enroll in a class or workshop, or connect with others through our programs and study groups. If you’re looking to take an even more active role, consider volunteering at outreach events or sharing your expertise by teaching a class of your own. Our guild thrives because of the willingness of members to learn from one another, support one another, and celebrate each other’s work. No matter your level or interest, you are welcome here.
