# Building a Concrete and Iron Bar Table

BUILDING A CONCRETE AND IRON BAR TABLE Modernize your home with this durable, concrete table that is easy to make with QUIKRETE and costs a fraction of buying one from a store. Project Instructions Shopping List Project Instructions When working with cement-based products, always wear eye protection and waterproof gloves. Step 1 Cut three 2½ inch wide, 4 feet long strips of melamine board, using a circular saw. Step 2 Screw pieces of wooden baluster around the edges of the melamine board. Step 3 Glue melamine strips to the wood block, and seal the form by applying silicone caulk along the edges, using a finger to smooth it out. Step 4 Once the caulk is dry, wipe down the form to remove dust and dirt. Step 5 Wire together four pieces of ½ inch diameter rebar in a rectangular reinforcement frame. Step 6 Mix the concrete, according to the instructions on the bag, and pour the mix into the mold until it’s 2/3 full. Step 7 Place rebar inside the concrete and then fill the mold the rest of the way. Step 8 Pack down the concrete into the corners and vibrate the mold to get rid of any bubbles. Step 9 Screed the top with a scrap piece of wood. Step 10 Cover the concrete to control moisture and let cure for at least 48 hours. Step 11 Unscrew the form and scrape off any excess caulk. Step 12 Screw together the iron pipe fittings to make the legs. Step 13 Cut a piece of plywood ¾ inch thick about 1 inch bigger than the outside of the pipe flanges’ dimensions. Step 14 Use two ¾ inch screws to screw in the flange to the plywood. Step 15 Place the concrete where you want it and use 1½ inch screws to screw on the concrete to the remaining two holes in the flanges. Step 16 Seal the concrete with QUIKRETE Acrylic Concrete Cure & Seal.
