Under Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 420.201, all outdoor open burning in Duval County is prohibited year‑round without a permit , including on residential properties. Burning household waste, yard waste, or construction materials is illegal. The only allowable burning is land‑clearing debris from the initial clearing of vegetation on commercial properties, and it requires an open‑burning permit.
