Blind human evaluations. 10,500+ votes. We’re proud to see Commotion Laya v1.5 come out on top. Josh Talks 110,098 followers 1mo Commotion Laya v1.5 was preferred over Cartesia, Sarvam, and ElevenLabs in our blind human evaluation for Indian-language customer support telephony. Rankings come from blind, pairwise comparisons where human evaluators chose between two anonymised audio samples for the same prompt - all at 8 kHz, actual phone call conditions. Head-to-head results: → 64.6% overall preference vs Cartesia Sonic v3 → 62.9% overall preference vs Sarvam Bulbul v3 → 53.1% overall preference vs ElevenLabs Turbo 2.5 On decisive votes: 74-79% across all three. The empathy benchmark told a sharper story. In sensitive scenarios - claims, hospitalisations, billing disputes - Laya was rated the more empathetic voice in 86-92% of comparisons. Competing models scored between 57-65% on the same prompts. The error rate gap explains why. Competing models were flagged for irregular pacing, mispronunciation, and dropped words at roughly twice Laya's rate. 332 evaluators · 10,500+ votes · 8 languages · 9 industries Full results, methodology, and audio samples: https://lnkd.in/gtHXJ543
