See more Vixo S @vixo_six Aug 5 Blade Runner 2049 moved me more than the original because its questions about humanity become questions about identity, loneliness and love. Roger Deakins’s images make isolation feel physical, while Ryan Gosling’s restraint turns silence into emotional weight. The relationship with Joi stayed with me most, largely because Ana de Armas gives genuine warmth and sensitivity to someone whose emotions may only be programming. Even then, does that make the comfort, attachment and grief she creates unreal? The film suggests that being human has less to do with origin than with the freedom to choose, show empathy and act without expecting recognition. Harrison Ford returns without taking ownership of the story, and the score gives its vast images a melancholy pulse. My main frustration is that the central threat never receives a complete resolution, leaving the larger conflict suspended. But no one can deny it's a visceral achievement. Btw, Dune really copied some aspects of this film--the skinhead looking guys, the overall atmosphere, and the maiden stabbing scene. I've gotta think the Dune director took inspiration from this.
