Okay, so I have to talk about this one. I showed 6187 Marymere last week and honestly almost didn't want to leave. It's in the McCormick neighborhood in Port Orchard, and if you've been dragging your feet trying to find a one-level home that doesn't feel dated the second you walk in — this might be it.

It was built in 2024, so it's got that new-build feeling (fresh paint smell basically included) but you don't have to deal with the whole permits-and-decisions nightmare of building your own. There's a covered front porch out front, nothing crazy, just enough to make it feel like home before you even open the door. Inside, the layout is open, and I mean that in the actual useful sense, not just realtor-speak — you can be in the kitchen and still be part of whatever's happening in the living room.

Speaking of the living room, there's a gas fireplace in there that just makes the whole space feel warmer, even before you turn it on. It kind of anchors the room. And right next to it is the kitchen, which — I'll be honest, I take a lot of kitchen photos for a living and this one stood out. Big island, plenty of seating, so cooking doesn't turn into a solo activity while everyone else hangs out somewhere else. There's also a little beverage bar tucked in, which sounds like a small thing until you're hosting people and suddenly nobody's crowding your counters trying to make coffee.

There's a bonus room too, and I genuinely don't know what to tell people to do with it because it could be anything. Office. Gym. The room where your kid keeps forty art supplies. Whatever you need most right now, basically.

The primary bedroom is off by itself, away from the other two, which I think matters more than people expect until they've lived in a house where it isn't. It opens right out to the covered patio and the fenced backyard, so if you're someone who likes coffee outside in the morning, that's basically already set up for you. Walk-in closet's a good size too, and the bathroom has two vanities, so no more doing that awkward sink shuffle with your partner.

The other two bedrooms and two bathrooms are solid — good for kids, guests, whoever. And there's a laundry room with a utility sink in it, which I know sounds like nothing, but ask anyone who's had to hand-wash something in a kitchen sink how much they'd have appreciated that.

Outside, the yard's already landscaped and it actually looks good, not just "technically landscaped." Low maintenance too, so you're not signing up for a weekend chore every week. The covered patio basically turns the backyard into another room — good for grilling, good for just sitting outside doing nothing in particular.

A few other things that come with the house:

- EV charger already installed
- Permanent LED holiday lighting
- Heat pump for heating and cooling
- Gas fireplace
- Attached two-car garage
- Professionally landscaped yard
- Fully fenced backyard

McCormick as a neighborhood is honestly a nice balance — there are parks and trails nearby, but you're not stuck out in the middle of nowhere either. Highway 16 isn't far, so getting around doesn't eat your whole day.
