# Forming a Concrete Dog Bowl Stand

Forming a Concrete Dog Bowl Stand Form a durable, weather-resistant concrete dog bowl stand that won’t move around or tip over, even when serving a rowdy Great Dane or Mastiff. Project Instructions Shopping List Project Instructions When working with cement-based products, always wear eye protection and waterproof gloves. Step 1 Cut the melamine into strips of your preferred lengths. Step 2 Glue the melamine strips to the white board, to serve as the sides of the form, and glue the dog dishes, face down, to the white board. Step 3 Seal the seams of the newly created form with silicone. Remove any excess. Step 4 Duct tape the bottom of the water bottles to the bottom of each dog bowl. This will allow you to remove the bowl from the concrete, later. Step 5 Mix the QUIKRETE 5000 Concrete mix, according to the directions listed on the back of the bag. Then, place the concrete into the mold. QUIKTip: Use a wooden spoon to push the wet concrete down to the bottom of the form, around the bowls and into the corners. Step 6 Vibrate the mold to release any air bubbles. QUIKTip: Use an orbital sander with no pad for this step. Step 7 Embed a rubber furniture pad into each of the corners of the mold. This will prevent the concrete from scratching your floor. QUIKTip: If you want to elevate the dog dish stand, you could insert legs in the concrete, at this point. Step 8 Cover the concrete to control moisture and let cure for at least 48 hours. Step 9 Cut and remove the plastic water bottles, and remove the slab from the form. QUIKTip: Push the dog bowls out of the concrete, and use a knife to scrape away any residual glue that is stuck to the dishes.
