Smith, Marketing Strategist and Holistic Business Coach Host: Julie RigaOverviewWhat does it really take to build a signature offer that sells, scales, and sets you free? In this episode, Julie Riga sits down with Deborah C. Smith, a marketing strategist, holistic business coach, and host of the Mindset to Market Podcast, to break down four essential ingredients every purpose-driven entrepreneur needs to craft a one-of-a-kind offer. This conversation is your blueprint for intentional growth rooted in clarity, joy, and your unique story.Cooking Up Your One-of-a-Kind Signature Offer: The Four Ingredients for SuccessAbout Deborah C. SmithDeborah C. Smith is a marketing strategist and holistic business coach who helps purpose-driven entrepreneurs build simple marketing and sales systems that allow them to scale with ease. With two decades of self-employed experience, she hosts the Mindset to Market Podcast. Deborah and Julie met at PodFest, forming an instant friendship built on purpose and authentic leadership.Fun Fact: Every morning, Deborah hard boils two eggs topped with green salsa hot sauce. Perfect, perfect breakfast. The Four Essential Ingredients of a Signature OfferIngredient 1: Alignment with Your Unique Skills, Story, and Lived ExperienceYour signature offer must be rooted in who you genuinely are. It is the intersection of your expertise, your journey, and your lived experience. The goal is to speak to your audience problem in a way that only you can. This is the foundation of authentic leadership and a personal brand built to last.Ingredient 2: It Solves a Clear, Tangible, and Urgent ProblemDeborah introduces the house on fire analogy. When a house is burning, nobody hesitates. Your offer must speak to that same urgency. In online marketing, you have only seconds to capture attention, so you must speak to the right-now problem. People buy to get out of pain and move toward greater fulfillment.Ingredient 3: A Simple, Repeatable ProcessA signature offer is not a collection of skills. It is a system. A clear, step-by-step process is the key to your freedom as a business owner and your audience ability to trust what working with you looks like. Every service has a process behind it, and that is where your real value lives.Ingredient 4: It Lights You UpThe most overlooked ingredient is joy. If your offer does not genuinely excite you, it will be nearly impossible to sell. Sales is energetic, built on relationships, trust, and authentic connection. Chase the thing that feels like your purpose, and the results will follow.Memorable Quotes"A signature offer is not a random batch of skills. It is a very clear, compelling, and process-driven thing that you create yourself.""If you love it, you will find you can sell anything on the internet.""Sales is energetic. It is about relationships, trust, and connection."Key TakeawaysClarity is the foundation. Get clear on your who, what, and why first.Solve what is urgent. Speak to the problem your audience feels right now.Build a repeatable system. A consistent process turns expertise into a scalable offer.Chase the joy. Your fulfillment is a business asset, not a luxury.Your story is your strategy. Own your lived experience because no one else can.Connect with Deborah C. Food is fuel. It's not supposed to be used for entertainment, celebration, emotions, or anything other than to fuel our bodies. Living enzymes with life vitality force are in the whole foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains and nuts. A plant-based diet is also known as plant-forward or plant-prioritizing. This diet mostly plants. Most of the time. A vegan diet is a morally guided plan that won't consume any product or food made from animals including leather or honey. A success tip is to crowd out less healthy foods with vibrant, whole, fresh fruits and vegetables rather than focusing on cutting things out. In the United States, we're living longer lives, but we're living sicker lives. We are living in the "Age of Man Made Illness" as opposed to Paleolithic Age. Most of these illnesses are caused by stress and food choices. It's not normal to feel bad all the time. Every meal you are either feeding disease or fighting disease. One simple thing you can do is choose to consume foods that have a chemical reaction in your body that lowers cortisol. Cutting back on caffeine can reduce anxiety. Chamomile lowers cortisol in your body. Stress blocks your body's ability to absorb nutrients. Join Deborah's free masterclass - "Eat to Relieve Anxiety" The Brain-Gut Connection. However, while dancing positively shaped her identity, Deborah still felt disconnected from other parts of her body. After studying holistic nutrition, Deborah realized that by making informed decisions about what goes into her body, she could regain control of her health. In today’s episode, host Elizabeth Pongo sits down with Deborah to discuss the true meaning of nutrition and health. While it is certainly important to eat a good amount of nutrient dense foods such as fruits and vegetables, Deborah explains that dieting isn’t one size fits all. To achieve optimal results, Deborah works with clients to first discover what fuels their bodies and then create a lifestyle plan around it. By allowing food to fuel your cells, you can reduce the risk of disease, achieve your goal weight, and save money…all at the same time! Tune into the premiere episode of Movement: The Science of The Self for a conversation with Deborah about her new program The Art and Science of the Healthy Bowl. In this episode of The Real Experts in Business podcast, I sit down with Deborah Smith to break down one of the most overlooked drivers of revenue growth: your ability to not take things personally. This is for service-based entrepreneurs who are stuck in a revenue plateau, not because of strategy, but because mindset is impacting their consistency. After 9 years of experience, I can tell you this is what keeps people stuck. Inside this episode, we talk about how resilience directly impacts your sales process, how to separate your identity from your results, and how to stay consistent even when things don’t go your way.Meet Deborah Smith:Deborah C. Smith is a Brooklyn-based marketing strategist and producer, the creator of Soul-Aligned 6-Figure Systems, and the host of the Mindset to Market podcast. She helps women entrepreneurs build sustainable, scalable personal brand businesses by blending traditional marketing strategy with creative storybranding and holistic wellness practices. Her work bridges the gap between strategy and alignment, guiding clients to create simple, profitable systems that support both their income and their lifestyle.Listen to the Mindset to Market PodcastVisit Deborah Smith’s WebsiteOther LinksConnect on InstagramConnect on LinkedInWhat You'll Learn:Why taking things personally slows your business growthHow mindset directly impacts your sales process and revenue growthThe role of resilience in building a sustainable service-based businessHow to separate your self-worth from business outcomesWhy rejection is data, not failureHow to stay consistent even when results fluctuateEpisode Highlights:[00:00] Introduction: Deborah’s background in marketing and entrepreneurship[05:00] Building a business before digital marketing was mainstream[09:00] Why resilience is a critical business strategy[12:00] What “don’t take it personally” actually means[18:00] Handling rejection, feedback, and failed launches[23:00] Using data instead of emotion to make decisions[27:00] Reframing negative experiences into growth opportunities[31:00] The importance of daily self-check-ins[36:00] Building self-worth outside of business results[42:00] Final thoughts and practical mindset shiftsKey Takeaways:Rejection Is Not a Reflection of Your ValueHere’s what I see constantly. Business owners making every “no” mean something about them. After 9 years of working with service-based entrepreneurs, I can tell you this is one of the fastest ways to stall your revenue growth. When someone doesn’t buy, doesn’t renew, or doesn’t respond, it’s easy to internalize that. But most of the time, it has nothing to do with you. It’s timing. It’s capacity. It’s priorities. It’s their current situation. When you attach your self-worth to every outcome, your business strategy becomes reactive instead of intentional.Your Mindset Drives Your ExecutionThis is not just a mindset conversation. This is a business strategy conversation.Because if you’re constantly questioning yourself:You stop showing up consistentlyYou hesitate in your sales processYou second-guess your pricing strategyInside the Focused Visionary Framework, this impacts all three pillars. Your Pricing, Pipeline, and Sales all rely on your ability to execute without emotional interference. And when you take things personally, your execution slows down.Data Will Always Serve You Better Than EmotionOne of the most important shifts in this episode is learning to look at everything as data.A failed launch is data.A non-renewal is data.Low engagement is data.Instead of reacting emotionally, you pause and ask:What can I learn from this? That’s how you refine your business strategy. That’s how you improve your conversion rate. And that’s how you create consistent revenue growth. You Are Not for EveryoneThis is a hard truth, but it’s necessary. Not everyone will resonate with your messaging. Not everyone will value your approach. Not everyone will choose your offer. And that’s not a problem.Trying to be for everyone weakens your positioning and slows your sales process.Clarity and specificity are what attract the right clients and move them through your pipeline faster.Consistency Requires Emotional DisciplineYou don’t get consistent results without consistent action. And you don’t get consistent action without emotional regulation. This is where most people break down. They have one bad day, one bad launch, one negative response and they pull back. But business growth requires you to keep going anyway. That’s the difference between staying stuck in a revenue plateau and actually scaling.Daily Self-Check-Ins Change EverythingThis is one of the simplest but most powerful strategies shared in this episode.Take a few minutes every day to ask:What worked today? What didn’t?What can I learn from this? This keeps you grounded in facts instead of emotions. It keeps your business strategy clear. And it helps you build resilience over time.Resources MentionedSubscribe to Back Pocket Insights for FREEBook a CEO Strategy Call Learn more about The Missing Piece IntensiveLearn more about The Focused Visionary AcceleratorDownload the FREE Lead and Conversion TrackerSubscribe to the Sunday Morning Brew NewsletterAbout the Host:Michelle DeNio is a business strategist based in Sarasota, Florida, specializing in helping service-based entrepreneurs break through revenue plateaus using her Focused Visionary Framework.
