I paused in silence for awhile, stumped. But suddenly the answer came to me, and it wasn’t the one I was expecting. I replied: “If you give me ~30 strangers and 48 hours of their time, I can create magic.” Naturally the guy who asked the question was now a bit puzzled, so I elaborated. I’ve led over 30 weekend retreats amongst friends and strangers. Now it’s my favorite part of running Verci . When you gather talented strangers for a weekend, I’ve learned that certain things have to happen for magic to unfold. Certain beats need to be hit to transform strangers to lifelong friends and collaborators. At retreats I’ve hosted people have: Conquered lifelong fears Fallen in love Started companies Created beautiful art And felt feelings they hadn’t felt in awhile (or ever) And honestly, that's a testament to them more than me. I'm just the guy they trusted enough to say "yes" to my weekend pitch. Usually, my proudest skill goes totally unnoticed. And that’s the whole point. I won’t spoil the magic by spelling it out for you in a Linkedin essay. No real job I had just spent a year teaching in the Peace Corps in West Africa But a week into moving, I bumped into an old friend, Ami Yoshimura 🍵 Right time, right place. When I graduated and began my career, I would not be a freelancer. The idea of working for myself, forging my own path, and accepting uncertainty was too scary for me. Now, years later, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. Today I am super excited to share the launch of EUDA’s new website, as well as our commercial demo reel. The last few years have been an incredible journey of growth and self discovery. The best part of it all is the incredible community of people I have met along the way, the people who have supported our path, given us encouragement and love, lended their time onset, and taught me the lessons that make me the person I am today. By minute 23 he was pulling out his personal credit card. I met this guy last week. an AE selling CRM consulting. He has a hard job because he can't source his own deals. 90% of his leads get handed to him by Salesforce reps. Which sounds nice Until you realize you don't control your own pipeline. Slow month? no deals SF rep changes? no lead flow SF does consulting? you business is gone. He was completely stuck. So he came up with a plan. "If I can find an extra 10 leads a month, I'll look like a hero." He wanted signals. And signed up for our platform. it got to work finding leads. #1 on the list? A company he worked with years ago. Now overhauling their whole business with AI and undergoing a massive $40M+ digital transformation. Just announced. He said it was the perfect account to sell an Agentforce upgrade. Yet, Nobody on his team knew. "We've worked with them in the past and had no idea. That's insane." He's not waiting for deals anymore. He's bringing them. The best reps don't wait for pipeline.
