# About Chattahoochee Hills

Home History Communities Serenbe Serenbe Serenbe Community Serenbe Community Serenbe is a New Urbanism village located in Chattahoochee Hills with entrances on Hutcheson Ferry Rd and Atlanta Newnan Rd.  Serenbe was developed by Steve Nygren who had previously opened a Bed & Breakfast in the area. The name "Serenbe" was his wife Marie's idea, and refers to the serenity of the location. The village comprises three hamlets: The Selborne hamlet is devoted to the visual and culinary arts and currently contains the retail shops in Serenbe. The Grange hamlet has an agricultural theme, and the Madoa hamlet focuses on health and healing. The vision for the community of Serenbe was born in an effort to protect the beautiful rural land just outside of Atlanta known as Chattahoochee Hill Country. The first house at Serenbe was built in 2004 and today the community is home to over 400 residents. Serenbe has won numerous awards including the Urban Land Institute Inaugural Sustainability Award, the Atlanta Regional Commission “Development of Excellence“ and EarthCraft named Serenbe the “Development of the Year.”   The above history is from  Wikipedia  and the  Serenbe  website.
